Betts Electrical has secured the full electrical design and installation package for Peelers Yard, an 81-apartment residential development in Manchester, marking another significant contract win for the contractor as it continues to strengthen its footprint across the North West MEP market.
Announcing the project on LinkedIn, the company said the appointment reflects the “trust placed in Betts Electrical to deliver high-quality, fully coordinated building services from design through to completion,” while also highlighting the scheme as a first project for a new client relationship.
The win positions Betts Electrical firmly within Manchester’s expanding residential and regeneration pipeline, where demand for experienced MEP contractors continues to rise across build-to-rent and city-centre housing developments. With major investment continuing across Greater Manchester, contractors capable of delivering both design and installation services are increasingly becoming preferred delivery partners for developers seeking streamlined project coordination.
Peelers Yard itself forms part of the wider regeneration of Manchester’s New Cross district and is being developed on the historic site of the former Goulden Street Police and Fire Station. The scheme will deliver a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, duplex penthouses and townhouses across an eight-storey development, while retaining heritage elements including the site’s landmark Victorian chimney stack and original boundary walls.
Developer CERT Property describes the project as a build-to-rent scheme designed to blend modern residential living with the preservation of historic structures. The development is expected to contribute to the continued transformation of New Cross, an area increasingly viewed as an extension of the city centre’s residential growth corridor.
For Betts Electrical, the contract represents more than another residential project win. It reinforces the company’s growing reputation within the Manchester market and underlines its ambition to become an increasingly prominent delivery partner within the North West’s competitive MEP sector as regional construction activity continues to accelerate.
