Blackburn-based electrical contractor Cronshaw Electrical has officially rebranded as Hardtech Engineering Services (North West) Ltd, marking a significant milestone in the company’s integration into the wider Hardtech Engineering Services Group.
The move formally aligns the long-established contractor with sister businesses Hardtech Engineering Services (North), formerly PK Engineering, and Hardtech High Voltage (HV), creating a unified engineering group offering integrated mechanical and electrical solutions across the UK.
Founded in 1958, Cronshaw Electrical has built a strong reputation across the North West for delivering low-voltage electrical installations and technical services within the healthcare, education, industrial and commercial sectors. The Blackburn-headquartered business has completed more than 120 major projects and developed long-standing relationships with regional contractors and public sector clients.
The rebrand signals a strategic evolution rather than a wholesale operational change. According to the company, clients will continue working with the same delivery teams and management structure, while benefiting from expanded capabilities and access to a broader engineering network.
Paul Cronshaw, managing director, described the transition as “an exciting new chapter for the business,” adding that joining the Hardtech group would enable the company to undertake increasingly complex and large-scale projects while maintaining its local delivery approach.
The move strengthens Hardtech’s presence within the North West M&E sector at a time when demand for integrated building services and infrastructure expertise continues to grow. By combining low-voltage, high-voltage and full M&E delivery under a single brand structure, the group is positioning itself to compete for larger industrial, commercial and energy-led developments across the region.
The rebrand also follows a period of growth for the business, including recognition as a finalist at the 2026 Red Rose Awards and an expanding portfolio of commercial and healthcare refurbishment projects throughout the North West
