SES Engineering Services Celebrates Record Growth

SES Engineering Services (SES), one of the UK’s leading MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) specialists, has reported record-breaking results for 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey.

SES achieved an impressive 55.3% increase in turnover, rising from £298.6 million in 2023 to £463.7 million in 2024. Profit before tax soared by 60.2% to £9.3 million. The company also strengthened its forward order book by £510 million to an outstanding £1.2 billion, setting a strong foundation for continued growth.

This exceptional performance reflects SES’s strategic focus on collaboration and diversification across key sectors including science and research, commercial, industrial, leisure, and public sector projects. The company has expanded its workforce to 890 employees, including more than 100 apprentices, underlining its long-term commitment to skills development and talent cultivation.

SES’s strong results have been driven by significant investments in digital engineering, smart technologies, and offsite manufacturing. The company operates major manufacturing facilities in Coventry and the North East, with a new site in Walsall set to open later in 2025 to support Ministry of Justice contracts and additional large-scale projects.

Commenting on the record results, Executive Managing Director Rob Clifford said:

“Through sustained investment in advanced digital engineering, smart technologies, and offsite manufacturing, combined with striving for excellence in delivery, we are positioning ourselves to become the most profitable and sustainable engineering and technology business in UK construction.”

To enhance its national presence, SES has restructured operations into three geographic regions — North, Central, and South — supported by seven offices across the country. The company is also planning further leadership appointments to drive innovation and future growth.

High-profile projects, such as Oxford’s Life and Mind Building, EDGE London Bridge, and SeAH Wind’s Monopile facility in Middlesbrough, highlight SES’s technical expertise and industry-leading delivery capabilities.

SES’s record performance is a testament to its forward-thinking approach and solidifies its position as a major force shaping the future of the UK MEP sector.
