Kimpton MEP Strengthens Leadership Team with Senior Appointments from HE Simm

In a major boost to its leadership and technical delivery capacity, Kimpton MEP has announced the appointment of five senior industry professionals formerly of HE Simm, following the latter’s recent administration.

The new recruits include Ian Bruce (former Operations Director at HE Simm), Peter O’Keeffe (Work Winning Director), Neil Davies (Senior Project Manager), John Glynn (Lead Mechanical Estimator), and Shane Hartley (Electrical Pre-Construction Lead). Together, they bring decades of combined experience across mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering — as well as a deep understanding of project delivery, client management, and technical innovation.

The appointments mark a significant step in Kimpton’s continued expansion within the MEP contracting and building services sector. The company, which has been operating since 1963, is experiencing growing demand across its commercial fit-out, decarbonisation, HVAC, and hard FM divisions. The newly formed team will enhance the company’s capacity to deliver large-scale, complex projects for both public and private sector clients nationwide.

Kimpton Managing Director Tim Davis described the move as “a powerful statement of intent,” adding:

“Kimpton has a new outlook, with fresh leadership and a strong platform for growth. That has been reinforced with the recruitment of a stellar team of five talented and experienced industry operators. Their expertise perfectly complements our existing strengths and will help us meet the rising demand for quality MEP delivery.”

Ian Bruce also commented on the move, noting:

“Kimpton is a highly respected name in M&E and HVAC services, and the potential for growth is clear. We’re excited to bring our experience and networks to the business and contribute to its next chapter.”

At a time when the industry is navigating significant change, Kimpton’s expansion is seen as a positive signal for the MEP sector — demonstrating that the skills, experience, and resilience of professionals affected by HE Simm’s collapse continue to strengthen other leading firms in the market
