Hager Opens new Local Distribution Centre in Telford

In a major milestone for its UK operations, Hager has officially opened a new 107,000 sq ft Local Distribution Centre (LDC) in Telford, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer service.

The grand opening, held on 6th October, was led by Sabine Busse, CEO of Hager Group, alongside the company’s Board and UK Senior Management Team. Located at Hortonwood 45, just a mile from Hager’s existing manufacturing site, the new facility marks a key step in the firm’s strategic growth and its dedication to investing in UK-based infrastructure.

Designed to significantly boost logistics, production capacity, and customer support, the LDC will enable faster and more efficient service delivery to customers nationwide. However, the new site isn’t just about scale — it’s also a statement of Hager’s commitment to sustainability and wellbeing.

Built to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC A standard, the building has been developed with carbon positivity and environmental performance in mind. Key features include:

  • 300m² of solar panels generating 63kW of renewable energy
  • 20 EV charging points and extensive cycle storage
  • 15% rooflight coverage for natural daylight
  • A 1MVA power supply to support operational efficiency
  • 20,000m² of landscaping, capable of absorbing 920 tonnes of CO₂ annually
  • Biodiversity initiatives, including wildflower zones, nesting boxes, and the preservation of a 180-year-old oak tree

Speaking at the event, Bruce Davies, Managing Director of Hager UK, commented:

“This investment reflects our confidence in the UK market and our commitment to sustainable growth. Telford has been our home for over three decades, and this facility strengthens our ability to serve customers while advancing our environmental goals.”

The new LDC represents a significant chapter in Hager’s evolution — combining operational excellence with environmental responsibility to power a more sustainable future for UK manufacturing and electrical distribution.
