Sheffield-based Fulcrum Group has appointed David Tong as Director of High Voltage (HV), as the business looks to strengthen collaboration and expand capability across its specialist energy divisions.
Tong brings more than 35 years of infrastructure experience to the role, including 17 years within the power sector. His career includes senior leadership positions at major infrastructure and utility businesses including Morrison Utility Services, Morgan Sindall and Amey. He has built a strong reputation across the utilities and engineering sectors, with expertise spanning power distribution, operational delivery and strategic business growth.
In his new position, Tong will work across Fulcrum Group’s specialist HV businesses, Dunamis and Maintech Power, supporting closer integration between the two operations and helping drive the next phase of growth. Fulcrum said the appointment forms part of its wider strategy to enhance its end-to-end high voltage offering for customers operating across the UK’s evolving energy infrastructure market.
Speaking about the role, Tong said the combination of Dunamis and Maintech Power creates “a powerful combination of specialist capabilities” and highlighted the opportunity to deliver a more joined-up service for clients, from concept design through to long-term maintenance and operation.
Fulcrum Group operates across multi-utility and energy infrastructure services, delivering electricity, gas, water and EV infrastructure connections nationwide. Through its group companies, the business provides HV design, grid connections, installation, operation and maintenance services for sectors including renewables, industrial and commercial developments, private networks and data centres.
