TClarke is nearing completion of its mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installation on the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s (YSTH) new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre at Scarborough Hospital. The project, designed to improve emergency healthcare capacity and efficiency in the region, represents a major success for TClarke, particularly its Newcastle branch, which is building a strong healthcare portfolio in collaboration with Integrated Health Projects (IHP)—a joint venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine as the main contractor.
The two-story facility, expected to significantly streamline emergency care, will feature dedicated assessment and treatment cubicles, a diagnostics zone, a resuscitation area, and a specialized children’s treatment area, alongside a 26-bed critical care unit. These additions are aimed at improving patient flow and enhancing the working environment for staff, ultimately leading to faster patient turnover and reduced pressure on existing bed capacities. Notably, the facility will also house a dedicated sensory room for patients with special needs and a family suite, prioritizing patient comfort and dignity. TClarke’s role in delivering complex MEP services has been instrumental in achieving these enhanced functionalities, particularly by ensuring critical systems are integrated seamlessly to meet the rigorous demands of a modern healthcare environment.
