
Paul Wylie has stepped into a new leadership role as Managing Director of Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) at NG Bailey, marking a significant milestone in a career that began with the company more than 25 years ago.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Wylie reflected on his journey from apprentice to senior leadership, highlighting the influence of colleagues and mentors along the way.
“After 25 years with NG Bailey, I’ve stepped into the role of Managing Director – OSM,” he said. “When I joined as an electrical apprentice all those years ago, I could never have imagined the path ahead.”
He credited much of his development to the people he has worked with throughout his career. “I’ve had the privilege of learning from some incredible individuals, people who offered opportunities long before I thought I was ready, who challenged me, supported me, and ultimately shaped the way I lead today,” he added.
Wylie also emphasised the importance of the team within the company’s Offsite Manufacturing division, describing it as one of the most rewarding chapters of his career.
“I’m especially proud to be part of a senior leadership team that brings out the best in one another and pushes us all to aim higher,” he said.
NG Bailey’s Offsite Manufacturing operation is a core part of the firm’s engineering capability, producing prefabricated mechanical and electrical systems in factory environments before they are installed on site. The approach forms a key element of modern methods of construction, improving productivity, safety and build quality while reducing waste and programme risk.
Operating from specialist facilities in Yorkshire, the business manufactures modular MEP solutions such as pipework, ventilation ductwork and electrical containment systems that can be assembled and quality-checked before delivery to construction sites.
With growing industry demand for offsite construction and digital manufacturing, Wylie’s appointment signals NG Bailey’s continued commitment to expanding its manufacturing-led approach across complex building projects in the UK.
