Orange Electrical Contractors has announced a significant project win after being appointed to deliver the full electrical package for a new 622-bed Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) development in the heart of Birmingham.
The firm will provide services from RIBA Stages 4–7, covering detailed design through to installation and commissioning. The scheme — constructed by HG Construction, one of Orange’s long-standing clients — marks HG’s first project in Birmingham and represents a major step forward for both companies in the region’s thriving student living sector.
Located on Bristol Road, the development will comprise four blocks ranging from eight to 17 storeys and has been designed with student wellbeing at its centre. The site will include a basketball court, two-storey gym, yoga studio, wellness area, and extensive landscaped external spaces, setting a new benchmark for modern student accommodation in the city.
For Orange Electrical Contractors, this latest win underscores the company’s growing reputation for delivering high-quality electrical design and installation solutions across the commercial, residential, and student accommodation sectors.
Orange provides a comprehensive range of electrical contracting services, from early-stage design and planning to installation, testing, and commissioning. Their commitment to innovation, technical precision, and client collaboration has seen the firm successfully complete projects nationwide for leading developers and contractors.
Speaking about the appointment, the company said the project is a testament to its technical capability, strong client partnerships, and consistent delivery across large-scale developments.
As demand for PBSA schemes continues to rise in major university cities, Orange’s involvement in such a landmark project reinforces its position as a trusted contractor in the MEP sector — delivering complex projects with a focus on quality, safety, and long-term value.
