Lindab Group has strengthened its presence in the Irish ventilation market after completing the acquisition of Connaught Ventilation Supplies (CVS), a well-established ventilation distributor based in Galway, Ireland.
The acquisition marks another step in Lindab’s European growth strategy and establishes the company in western Ireland, a region currently experiencing strong levels of construction activity. The transaction has been completed following approval from Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
CVS distributes ventilation products across western Ireland and also manufactures a selection of ventilation ductwork. The business generates annual revenues of approximately €2 million and employs five people. Lindab said the company delivers profitability above the Group average and, importantly, has not previously distributed Lindab products, creating opportunities to broaden its product offering and drive future sales growth.
Ola Ringdahl, President and CEO of Lindab Group, said the acquisition would strengthen the company’s successful Irish operations while providing access to one of the country’s busiest construction markets.
He also praised CVS’s reputation for customer service, strong market position and profitability, adding that the existing owner and Managing Director will remain with the business to support its continued development under Lindab ownership.
Following the acquisition, CVS will operate as a subsidiary of Lindab Ireland. The purchase has been financed through Lindab’s existing credit facilities.
Commenting on the deal, CVS Managing Director Tomas Varley said joining one of Europe’s leading ventilation specialists would create new opportunities for both customers and employees while supporting the company’s long-term growth ambitions.
The latest acquisition continues Lindab’s expansion across Europe through strategic acquisitions, having invested heavily in strengthening its presence in key ventilation markets, including previous acquisitions in Ireland, the UK and Poland.
