Gloster MEP Ltd announces the successful completion of its latest high-profile fit-out project at 33 Old Broad Street, delivering a full design & build CAT B fit-out across 13 floors in the heart of the City of London. The project stands as a testament to Gloster’s technical excellence, resilience-focused solutions, and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction.
The comprehensive scope of works included the installation of high-spec breakout areas, tea points, a fully equipped industrial kitchen and cafeteria, and multiple modern meeting spaces. The uppermost executive floors feature a state-of-the-art boardroom, auditorium, and a terrace offering panoramic city views — all underpinned by Gloster’s expert MEP integration.
A particular highlight of the project is the delivery of four fully resilient trading floors, supported by an 800kVA UPS system, automatic transfer switch (ATS)-backed underfloor power, and dual A&B power supplies to each desk — ensuring maximum operational uptime.
The technical backbone of the project saw Gloster expertly integrate three existing transformers into a custom 3-section LV panel, incorporating generator load shedding, power factor correction cabinets, and a PLC-driven automation system for total control. In total, 115 new distribution boards were installed, supporting lighting, power, AV, and mechanical systems.
Safety and efficiency were paramount throughout, with VESDA fire detection in comms rooms, EVC, and disabled refuge systems installed for compliance and security. More than 10,000 luminaires were deployed and linked to a smart Simmtronic lighting control system, offering automated emergency testing, fault monitoring, and energy-saving features like daylight harvesting and motion detection.
With this milestone complete, Gloster MEP continues to solidify its reputation as a trusted partner for high-end, technically demanding MEP solutions.
