Falcon Fire Ltd has been appointed to install the commercial sprinkler system across the three‑block Trinity Road redevelopment in Bristol’s Old Market district, a major regeneration project designed by Alec French Architects and commissioned by The Guinness Partnership.
The development replaces the obsolete Trinity Road police station with over 100 one‑, two‑ and three‑bedroom affordable flats (approximately 104–106 units), alongside a new ground‑floor neighbourhood police station, landscaped courtyard, public realm and integrated commercial space.
Alec French Architects led the successful planning application and design coordination. Their scheme employs acoustic strategies—like locating bedrooms toward the rear and high‑performance glazing—to buffer residents from neighbouring Trinity Centre noise. A courtyard garden celebrates an existing corner tree, while active frontage on Old Market enhances street-life.
Box Twenty, working under Alec French Architects, handled RIBA Stage 2 and Stage 3 designs including energy integration. The project features district heating connection to Bristol’s Lower Old Market energy network, backed-up by on-site boilers, and rooftop solar PV to meet local renewable standards.
Falcon Fire’s contract covers full commercial sprinkler installation across all three new blocks, plus associated fire‑protection infrastructure: dry and wet risers, hydrant mains, fire‑stopping and servicing. Their involvement ensures fire safety is realised at a core building stage. Falcon Fire stated in their LinkedIn announcement, “we have been successful in securing the commercial sprinkler installation package on the Trinity Road redevelopment.”
The scheme’s procurement follows funding support from Guinness Partnership and a £1.5 million council bailout to revive the stalled scheme. Construction commenced in early 2024 after demolition of the old police station.
