Engineering consultancy Harley Haddow has strengthened its presence across the Midlands with the opening of a new Birmingham office, led by newly appointed Director Scott Lydon.
The new operation, based at Runway East in Birmingham city centre, is Harley Haddow’s eighth UK office and represents the consultancy’s third new location in four years as it continues its national growth strategy.
The Birmingham office launches with an established 11-strong team, led by Lydon and supported by Regional Director Jeremy Silvester. The team brings together engineers, a Building Information Modelling (BIM) specialist, office management and apprentices, providing an established platform from which Harley Haddow can expand its presence in the region.
Harley Haddow provides mechanical, electrical and public health engineering consultancy across the built environment. Its new Midlands operation will support both public and private-sector clients, with a particular focus on building performance, energy efficiency and the delivery of more sustainable buildings.
For the MEP sector, the move provides Harley Haddow with a stronger regional footprint and greater access to Birmingham’s extensive development and construction market.
Lydon said the team has a strong understanding of the regional market and its key players, adding that this knowledge, combined with Harley Haddow’s established engineering foundations, creates a strong platform for growth.
Jim Kellachan, Director at Harley Haddow, described the establishment of a Birmingham operation as the natural next step in the company’s expansion plans.
He highlighted the benefit of bringing an established team into the business, while also emphasising the importance of having the right skills and geographical coverage to support Harley Haddow’s sustainability ambitions.
The Birmingham launch forms part of Harley Haddow’s wider growth strategy and strengthens its ability to deliver engineering expertise closer to clients across the Midlands.
With building performance, decarbonisation and energy efficiency increasingly central to project delivery, the consultancy’s expanded regional presence positions the new team to play a significant role in the Midlands’ evolving built environment.
