JTL, a leading apprenticeship and training provider in the building services engineering sector, has partnered with the Climate Change Committee (CCC) and the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) to launch a new digital series titled “Electrifying Our Future.” This initiative aims to highlight the pivotal role of the electrical industry in achieving the UK’s net-zero emissions goals.
The series underscores the accelerating pace of electrification, with the CCC’s recent report indicating that 60% of the UK’s emission reduction targets will be met through electrification. However, the report also emphasises that without the right skills, infrastructure, and clear policies, progress could stall. “Electrifying Our Future” explores how a skilled workforce, innovative technologies, and industry collaboration are essential to reaching net-zero.
The launch event took place at the House of Lords, attended by parliamentarians, industry leaders, and representatives from participating organisations. Among the attendees were AR Power, featured in the campaign alongside JTL, and one of JTL’s electrical apprentices, Carter Kent. Their involvement showcases the importance of apprenticeships and the development of a competent workforce to support the UK’s electrification efforts.
